Bunny

Recently I’ve have been leaning on practicing curiosity. Mainly learning new processes and using those skills to make things. These learning experiences are still things that bring me peace and joy.

I’m not afraid to admit that I really am bad at conveying things out of my head and putting them into paintings. I am terrible at it, but here I am, still trying and getting better I think.

I really like using black paper as it makes for some great contrast with light colors. For example, I put down a base layer of this intensely dark matte black paint and then did my painting on top of that. It adds some crazy depth around the eyes. I also did gray around the edges of the nose, but I’m not sure it gave me the effect I wanted.

I think this will be a WIP until I can figure out something to do with the eyes. I have an idea that involves adding some movement to them.

Lean on the things that make you happy and please take care of each other.

New Desktop

Recently the local reuse place had an interesting tabletop that looked like it came from a restaurant. It happened to be the perfect size to fit on the back wall in the office. This is going to be our new workbench for building and repair.

The burnt orange color desktop contains a Cameo Cutter Plotter and AC Autotransformer tools.

Thanks for letting me share this find with you all and please take care of each other.

First Weeding…

The Expanse – Remember The Cant OPA logo.

We needed a file cabinet for the office and picked one up at the reuse store. Jess had the wonderful idea that we should paint art on it. We got to talking and turns out she had never cut or weeded a stencil before. I think she nailed on the first go. What a fantastic job! Also a spot on OPA logo!

If you have not seen The Expanse or read the Books (By James S. A. Corey), please check them out.

They have been my top favorite space/sci-fi book series in recent memory.

The next installment: A Little Death

Please take care of each other.
