Not forgotten

I recently found a whole bunch of leaves that had been eaten by something that left a crazy skeleton/lace like structure on them. I painted some of the glass medium I have on them and left them to dry to an almost hard surface.

The small one was painted orange/yellow using some very thin crazy florescent pour paint. It left an almost stained glass like effect on it. When shown under UV it looks like it is on fire! The other leaf was painted bright white after a base coat of medium. Then I inked it blue with hints of yellow and finished with a top coat of glow in the dark pigments. When it is shown under UV the coating of reactive pigments glow like mad and it hangs on glowing in the dark. Unfortunately the glows are really hard to get with a cellphone camera. I will try to update the photos with better ones here in the near future.

I also have two leaves left unpainted and wanted to see if I heat cure them if they will become stiff and glass like.

Stay tuned…

The side fruit are actually made from round lava stone beads. I have found they are lightweight and being porous take to painting well.

The monster has an armature made from a discarded holiday ball decoration.
