Lit Eye Balls

Resin and lit mixed upon some silica glass beads. I have found that you can cast onto glass if you first spray it with some mold release. I really like the Smooth-on line of casting and mold materials.

Also please be safe around these home UV bulbs. Some of them emit a crap tun of UV light and it is bad, really bad for your eyes and skin over time.

Gotta take care of each other.

Feed Me!

The side fruit are actually made from round lava stone beads. I have found they are lightweight and being porous take to painting well.

The monster has an armature made from a discarded holiday ball decoration.

DIY Hydrophone

Smooth-Cast® 300 Hydrophone in metal body. Hooked to Cortado MKII & H4n Pro

I built myself a piezo hydrophone. The metal ring used was kept from a disassembled camera lens. I sealed around the edges to make a box before casting the whole thing into resin.

Resin Tip: If you have a lighter handy you can quickly brush the flame over the surface to pop the bubbles during initial casting to avoid the bubbles seen in the bottom photo.  😉  But in this case I did not have one handy before the resin setup. Far as I can tell keeping them does not hurt the hydrophones function since it’s active side faces outward.
