I have this modded cassette player that skipping steps for some reason. In the end I replaced the modded cable with some HQ console cable. It fixed the problem.
I really like finding cassettes with odd sounds on them. Like these odd background audio tapes and the ones found in really old telephone answering machine outgoing loop tapes.

One day, out of the blue, I remembered this art project that had eyeballs attached to random objects and scenes. I think maybe it was a separate project?? But they made these blinking eyeballs that synced with each other. I was so fascinated with them but I could never find them. I actually found some new old stock after an intense online search of small surplus retailers.
Here is me triggering the solenoid with a control voltage.
